Day 1
Well today started day 1 of the second year of my school. (We were a new charter school last year.) And of course we were in meetings from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Very typical of my principal to schedule a first day like that.
I found out last week that I won’t be returning as a first grade teacher but will be the 2nd grade interventionist. I actually think I might be happier in that role. I will actually be using the Master’s Degree in Literacy I worked hard for! And I don’t think my day will be quite as hectic since I won’t be dealing with 30 kids at a time. That doesn’t mean I am not expecting any challenges. But I am actually more optimistic about this year now than what I was leaving last year. And I’ll be working with some of my babies from last year :-)
